Handmade ceramic bowls, chopsticks, grape juice (sac sac), jasmine rice, homemade kimchi, japchae

This piece was a dinner setting with all aspects of my culture in regard to food and ceramic ware. My classmates were invited to sit at a table, with each set having a handmade ceramic bowl (with various designs reminiscent of traditional Korean ceramicware), a set of chopsticks, and a can of sac-sac. In the middle of the tables, there were three large ceramic bowls with various foods that are some of my personal favorites from Korean cuisine: handmade kimchi, rice, and japchae. After sitting, everyone was invited to grab some of each of the foods and dig in. While we all ate together I posed questions, stimulating conversation about each person’s experience with their own cultural dishes.
